Finally being free from slavery of the hard ships of not being claimed as human beings but as property that endured in harsh whippings as punishment and being sold from their families enduring harsh whippings, no pay, no rights, and could not own guns or really anything of that manner. With the help of Abraham Lincoln the Emancipation of Proclamation the African Americans finally had a chance to become something more than just property; even though it did not free all slaves yet sum slaves got there freedom papers. With the Emancipation Proclamation at hand for African Americans the whites were worried that no work would get done any more, and blacks would want revenge on them because of the hardships of oppression over hundreds of years. Besides that black people worked hard over the years of being sold and working for nothing and being treated as if they were property to now become middle class and demand respect from the white people who ones thought of them as not equals.
With all the African American civil liberty movements taking place this helped to improve education and employment opportunities, and establish electoral power. After the abolishment of slavery was ended in the south black communities saw tremendous change in the fortunes of the black people.
