An example of a consequentialist is that lying is not okay because of the negative outcome. But telling a white lie or stretching the truth is okay. To a consequentialist the outcome of an action is more important than the action itself as long as the outcome is positive. The act of an individual is only wrong if the consequence is bad. It is not okay to stretch the truth or to tell a white lie. They believe that an action is wrong or is right within itself no matter the consequence, good or bad. So if someone was to steal and not get caught, a demonologist would still believe that they that individual was still wrongs. Their main concern is what people do and not what consequence there are behind their actions. They want people to always do the right thing and to stay as far away as possible from doing the wrong thing. Deontologist have live by moral rules such as, do not kill, do not still, and do not
