In Poetics by Aristotle it mentions the importance of having a protagonist, in the movie Ender’s Game it shows this quality very well. In this movie, there is a young kid who has a lot expected of him, who is being tested and threatened by everyone older than him. People connect to him because everyone has felt that way… been picked on just because of one way or another. It also shows how much responsibility can hurt. In the beginning of the movie, the humans are all fighting to save their world from aliens, and so it seems pretty easy to say that the intruders are the enemy. However, as the movie goes along, it reveals that they, the humans, were the terrorists. They were the ones who destroyed the peaceful civilians. However, most people don’t see the importance of having an antagonist… For example, if there was no enemy in this movie, then there would be no movie.
