Armed Shooter Game: Personal Narrative
I was surprised at my findings during the shooter game. The armed I had WHITE-24 and BLACK-20 and the unarmed I had WHITE-22 and BLACK-15. With my own heuristics I feel that I have a quick judgement, because the game made me think quick to observe which people was good or bad. When I got them wrong it took away points from the average, but it taught me to be more observative to the people that popped up on the screen. Overall, I had to figure which people are dangerous and which ones was not dangerous which I needed to survive throughout the game.

We had a lot of practices in December to get ready for games in January. I was really nervous for our first game. Our first game was supposed to be right after christmas break ended, but we had a snow day so it was cancelled. I wished it hadn’t been so I could just get it over with, but i was gonna have to wait. There is bias when there are white are black people that do not follow stereotypes. For example, a unarmed black male and an armed white male. It was also noted that those without training at all were more likely to have their shooting decisions influenced by race. The second article found that depending on their training, law enforcement are able to check themselves and control their biases. However, it is important to note that all of the studies that take place in these papers rely on strictly laboratory settings. Law enforcement officers may take different actions with their bias in high stress situations.
