Around the World in 80 Days. Disliked and Liked Character
Based on the novel that I have read entitled ‘Around The World In 80 Days’ written by Jules Vurne, the character that I disliked the most is Detective Fix. He was the detective that despatched from England in search of the bank robber. I disliked him the most because he was a greedy person. He made decision without thinking and investigating what the truth was about. Fix was driven by the prize money that was promised if he managed to capture the criminal. Unfortunately, Phileass Fogg’s gentleman characteristic was the same as the robber and without further investigation Fix adamant in getting the warrant he needed to capture Phileass Fogg, who to him was the robber. Moreover, Fix rigid and self-conceited characteristic made me disliked him more. He was too proud of himself and refused to accept other people’s point of view. This was proved when Fix admitted that he passed the art of unmasking robbers who looked honest and the worst was he claimed that he managed to capture criminals by having a scent for them. Other than that, Fix was also a very ruthless person. He was so determined to get what he want that he do not care of others. He was willing to do anything just to arrest Phileass Fogg. The ruthlessness of him clearly shown by him when he had someone to hit Passerpartout on the the when Passerpartout refused to join him in his purpose on arresting Phileass Fogg. This happened before they went to Japan. As a conclusion, Fix was greedy, ruthless, rigid and self-conceited person. This made me disliked him the most.
