They were often taught by their fathers, and this was how many women became artists. While women were allowed to participate in the arts during the Renaissance, it was not until the 19th century that women could use live subjects.
With the manifestation of both these new artists and these new philosophies it is inevitable that new art styles came about. Both of these elements created an awareness of nature, learning, and understanding of the individual. All of these things combined allowed for realistic forms, and natural depictions.
