There is evidence of the creation of art by humans since early life. We generate art because it becomes a passion, an intense emotion. Art is a way of life that connects with everyone and everything. Humans have a need to create and express ourselves. Each piece of artwork is a distinct inner expression of that person. Anthropologists and Historians have discovered that any society that rejected art would not thrive and may eventually become extinct. “Anywhere that neglects the arts shortchanges its people.”, states John Tusa in his article titled “Art Matters”. For example, Sparta, despite its name, rose to become a dominate military land-power in ancient Greece. Though Sparta’s great victory, nearly nothing is left from the city because
they did not practice art at all. Athens, on the other hand, was and still is a masterwork of all time. When you see Parthenon, for instance, it may seem like just a ruin on a hilltop, but through that ruin, you cannot stop feeling something alive and active from those days. Art can communicate through history from one generation to another. Art identifies a culture and uniqueness of not only a nation but also an individual. It is as if humans can time travel through art. Humanity will diminish with a lack of art. Being artistic is a gift. Sharing that gift is a spiritual thing. Art benefits humanity by stimulating our intellect and our emotion. It is a form of communication though work. Anthropology is the study of humankind. The adage “The study of art is the study of mankind” describes the communication between humans and the history behind art. Creating art is an expression of the human experience because we express our feelings and emotion through the art and communicate it to others.The extensive use of computers to generate designs, lessens the relevancy of art created by human hand. creation and production of designs by the human hand being relevant and necessary,
