TOPIC: ART MEDIA AND PROCESSES
A variety of techniques, materials, and tools are used by artists to “ speak” or communicate with the viewers. A medium is any material used to create art. It can be as ordinary as a graphic pencil or as exotic as golden leaf gilding.
TWO- DIMENSIONAL ART ( 2D ) In two-dimensional art works like drawing and painting, crayons, pastels, paints and pencils are the media used by artists.
DRAWING Drawing is the art of making a figure, plan, or sketch by means of lines. Line a drawing is the most important element of art. Drawing has a variety of uses not only in art but also in art-related fields. Drawing is also helpful in perceiving or closely studying an object. Closely studying an object or perceiving is observing all the details and noticing every line and shadow. Finished artwork in boks and magazines make use of drawing.
HATCHING This technique involves drawing a series of thin lines all running parallel, or in the same direction.
CROSSHATCHING This technique is drawing lines that crisscross each other.
BLENDING
This technique is smoothly drawing dark values little by little by pressing harder on the medium of drawing.
STIPPLING
This technique involves creating dark values by using a dot pattern.
