My favourite sport is artistic gymnastics. This sport contains 4 disciplines: Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. To do gymnastics you need a uniform, gymnastic shoes and grips for the uneven bars.
Vault:
At this discipline the gymnast sprints down a runway and then he or she jumps onto a springboard which propels the sporter into the air onto a vault. That's usually a vaulting table which is 1 m long and 1 m wide. Now the gymnast does for example a flic-flac, a handspring, or a salto above the vaulting table.
Uneven bars:
On the uneven bars the gymnast performs on two bars on different levels. He or she can change between this two bars with flying elements. The gymnast does swinging, circling or moves that pass through the handstand. The lower bar is usually 160 cm and the upper bar 240 cm high.
Balance Beam:
The gymnast performs jumps, acrobatic skills, dance elements and turns. The beam is from 120 cm to 125 cm high, 5 m long and just 10 cm wide. For this discipline the gymnast needs balance, flexibility and strength.
Floor Exercise:
At this event the gymnast performs a choreographed exercise from 70 to 90 seconds along with music. The gymnast does flic-flacs, saltos ,round-offs, combinations of jumps and other things like this.
My favourite disciplines are uneven bars and floor exercise.
