Ashleigh says that she will go steal the money, that shows ashleigh does care for her dad... In the text is states “ What do you want to do dad?” “ I asked. Come to the apartment with me and take the money?” That is saying that ashleigh is willing to go steal the money for her dad. Two more pieces of evidence that shows ashleigh cares about her dad is that ashleigh is worried about her father, the reader will know this because its states that “ You owe them two hundred dollars?” “ I asked, trying to keep the panic out of my voice.” It says she was trying to keep the panic out of her voice so she clearly cares for her dad. For the last piece of evidence to prove that ashleigh really cares about her dad is that Ashleigh asks if her dad needs any help. After reading the story twice I was able to understand how the first sentence of the story encompasses the story as a whole. The first sentence refers to how the narrator perceives adults as people who are constantly changing things with complete disregard to kids and their feelings. In my opinion, the author’s intent is to share the narrator’s strong opinion towards adults and towards her own personal feelings about herself and her beliefs. The narrator has a very strong spirit about her which becomes apparent very quickly, and is present throughout the entire story. The story begins with Hazel (the narrator) explaining one of the characters has decided to change his name back to his original name because he wants to get married.…

In Angela’s Ashes, Angela manages to convince Frank’s father to go to England so that he can earn money for the family. With that money, the family could afford many things that other people have. This can be related to current families where parents go about working, getting money for their children so that they can have a better life and live happier. However, Malachy still drinks away the money that he earns and I find this disgraceful because his family can’t get some of the privileges that they got in the past because he’s working in England. Since they can’t receive some of the privileges and he’s drinking the money away, their family is going to suffer to worse conditions and I find that behavior shameful. Their family reaches such low…

For example, she says, "Can I pay for the young man's fine or give him the money to return and thus erase the crime?" When the thief finds out that the charges are going to be dropped, he says, "I do not need the American senora to bury my child. If I pay for his funeral by spending six months in prison, that is my choice. I am the father. If the senora cannot understand this, it is not my concern." In other words, the thief will pay for his son's death by going to jail before having an American woman paying for his son's death. The thief learns that he should have earned the money to buy his son's coffin by himself. Earning money honestly by working hard would have been a better choice than spending time in prison.…
