Busra Kayi is an administrative assistant at Northwest Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. She has asked for your assistance in formatting a workbook she created that summarizes patient feedback by department. Hospital executives will use Busra’s data to make improvements to each department as necessary, and so it is imperative that the workbook is clear, easy to read, and professional.
GETTING STARTED
Download the following file from the SAM website:
IL_Excel2013_UC_P1a_FirstLastName_1.xlsx
Open the file you just downloaded and save it with the name:
IL_Excel2013_UC_P1a_FirstLastName_2.xlsx
Hint: If you do not see the .xlsx file extension in the Save file dialog box, do not type it. Excel will add the file extension for you automatically.
Open the file IL_Excel2013_UC_P1a_FirstLastName_2.xlsx if necessary. Ensure that your name is displayed in cell B6 of the Documentation sheet. If cell B6 does not display your name, please download a new copy of the file from the SAM website.
PROJECT STEPS
1. Apply the Slice theme to the workbook.
2. On the Survey worksheet, in cell A2, change the font to Verdana and the font size to 12.
3. Merge and center the range A2:H2.
4. In the range A20:H20, add a Thick Box Border and then change the fill color to Standard Yellow (4th column, 1st row in the Standard Colors palette).
5. Add the comment Weighted average on a scale of 1-5. to cell H14. Remove any other text from the comment.
6. Apply the 20% - Accent1 cell style (1st column, 1st row in the Themed Cell Styles section of the Cell Styles Palette) to the range A1:H1, and then apply bold formatting to the same range.
7. Apply the Comma Number style to the range B15:G20 and then decrease the number of decimal places shown to 0.
8. Apply the Short Date number format (like 6/20/2016) to the cells C22 and C23.
9. Apply the Percent number format to cell C24 and then decrease the number of decimal places shown to 0.
10. Use AutoFit to resize column F
