A person should have the right to say if they want to die. If someone is terminally ill and are in excruciating pain they should have the option of assisted suicide. For a treatment a person may go through chemotherapy which results in making their body suffer by losing hair, vomiting, painful procedures, incredible pain, and other extreme effects with unpleasant side effects. Patients have to take lethal medications that destroys the body while they are going through their painful situation. While assisted suicide should be the last resort for anybody sometimes it might be the only way to let a terminally ill person be at peace (Quill).
Although assisted suicide may make a doctor feel like they have killed their patient, or a person does not pass by natural effects. Also doctors could abuse their power and assist in suicide whether the patient knows or not. It helps a person who is in extreme pain that no medicine can cure or help. But a doctor takes the Hippocratic Oath which says that they will go to any measure they can to help a person (Bioethics). Therefore assisted suicide should be a legal option for terminally ill humans. People should not have to suffer on a daily basis.
