but this really means that Atticus is allowing Scout to learn by not telling her what she can and cannot do. By allowing Scout to do what she mostly want, allows her to teach herself what is right and wrong, with the help of Jem.
“Bad language is a stage all children go through, and it dies with time when they learn they’re not attracting attention with it” (Lee 90), This part of the story was when Atticus was talking to his brother about what had happened that afternoon.
This part was showing that Atticus know so much more than most adults about the stages of what children go through in their life. Atticus shows that he knows children can tell when an adult is evading a question when he said “Children are children, but they can spot an evasion quicker than adults, and evasion simply muddles ‘em.” (Lee 90). Atticus shows that not all adults seem to know that children can see evasion better than adult. It is shown that when Atticus has to tell his brother that children can see evasion better than adult. With both these statement shown above it shows that Atticus really does know what he is doing, it is just that the in the town can not see what he is doing for his children is really letting Jem and Scout figure out the what they want to know on their own and he will only help if they ask. Atticus has been able to keep Jem and Scout out of many differnet di that he did not want them to get, one would be the Maycomb’s disease also known as racism. Atticus has been a good parent for both Jem and Scout taught them
well.
