oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Stereotypes impact many people’s thinking about his or her own identity.
For example, Scout’s aunt Alexandra stereotypes Scout as a young lady that is not ladylike. Aunt Alexandra says that scout is not ladylike because she uses overalls and acts like a boy. Another example of stereotyping is when Jem, Scout, and Dill act out how Boo Radley looks like and how he bit his mother’s finger.
Stereotyping is said a lot through the story of “How to kill a Mockingbird”.
Stereotypes could need up to arguments or fights because some people might get offended by what was said. Stereotypes about particular should not be made because that person might get mad and want to start an argument denying them so acting like that. For example, there's many brothers and sisters that argue. Then when someone says something they mimic one another causing it to a bigger issue where the parents have to come in and break it up. By making a stereotype it could cause other people to get involved and could hurt someone’s feelings.
As a society, we can get rid of bias and stereotypes.
As a society we can stop cyberbullying, instigating, can stop influencing fights, and could even stop getting on social media only if you really can’t control what you're going to say. For example when the situation with Amanda Todd was so sad but caused by all the stereotypes that people thought of her because of what she did in high school. We should stop society from hurting people’s feelings so that they won't commit any harm towards innocent people because that what
happens.
