Frequency is a characteristic of auditory hallucinations that refers to how often the voices are heard. A common variable that was used to evaluate severity of psychosis. Ref 5 A study of auditory hallucination experience of 12 schizophrenic patients found that the frequency of auditory hallucination ranged from once a week up to continuously around the clock (Bucherri et al., 1997). Morrison et al (2004) stated that the frequency of auditory hallucinations was associated with anger and anxiety emotional reactions of voices (68).
2- Duration
Duration referred to the length of time between the occurrence of auditory hallucination and its disappearance in each episode. It was another common dimension that was used to evaluate severity of psychosis. The duration of auditory hallucinations ranged from seconds to hours (McCarthy-Jones et al., 2012; Nayani & David, 1996). Cheung (2003) who found that duration of voices lasts for hours (64). Copolov et al (2004) also found that the majority of patients had duration lasts from 90 minutes to 8 hours (121).

The presence of an affective dimension in hallucinations, has been observed in a number of studies17, 19,46–58 and may include the emotional responses to hallucinations, the affective contents of hallucinations, or both. Emotion (especially anxiety and depression) has been found to be important in triggering hallucinations.59 486 Depression, anxiety and stress are commonly experienced by individuals predisposed to hallucinations and often accompany hallucinations in patients with
