Autism Autobiography
Autism, what does this mean? What kind of impact can it have on a family, on a child? The definition of Autism is a variable developmental disorder that appears by age three and is characterized by impairment of the ability to form normal social relationships, by impairment of the ability to communicate with others, and by stereotyped behavior patterns. (1) There are many impacts of Autism, particularly with the family because having a child born with Autism means a lot more extra care to this child and all of the things that he or she needs to overcome. percent of students are autistic and let me tell you they are not the easiest to handle. Within this essay much will be revealed, what exactly is autism and what are the characteristics of autism, how to handle an autistic child, and how to help he or she. As I said earlier autism is a variable developmental disorder that appears by age three and is characterized by impairment of the ability to form normal social relationships, by impairment of the ability to communicate with others, and by stereotyped behavior patterns.
(2) So in other words it is hard to communicate with an autistic patient and it is very hard to control their behavior because it is very sporadic. Autism in most cases is solely genetic based, but in other rare cases it is strongly associated with agents that cause birth defects. (3) Other little important facts are the prevalence of autism is about 1–2 per 1,000 people worldwide; however, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports approximately 9 per 1,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with Autism. as Findlay 2 followed, triad of symptoms: impairments in social interaction; impairments in communication; and restricted interests and repetitive behavior. (5) These symptoms begin in the early stages of life and gradually increase and increase throughout adulthood. These are the many symptoms and characteristics of autism and they start at a young age and are very noticeable at a young age. If you notice these in your child you need to take he or she to a doctor right away. During the two hour Sunday class that my Mom and myself taught I learned and extreme amount of information about autism.
The first thing that I quickly realized was that you definitely need to let your students go to the bathroom otherwise and accident will happen, we quickly learned this. More importantly is if an autistic student needs something you need to help them achieve what they want but you cannot give them what they want easily. Give them something to motivate them, something that will help them reach their goal but does not give them their goal very easily. For example, Matthew a student who I particularly watched because I knew him personally likes to go to the bathroom a lot. So when he got up and walked out the door I brought him back into the room and asked him to answer and question than go to the bathroom, he answered the question correctly then Matthew and I walked to the bathroom. The reason I walked him to the bathroom was because you always need to be watching he or she because he or she can be very sporadic. These are ways to handle an autistic
student.

There are many ways to help an autistic patient or at least manage the patient and they are as followed. The main goals when treating children with autism are to lessen associated deficits and family distress, and to increase quality of life and functional independence. No single treatment is best and treatment is typically tailored to the child 's needs. Families and the educational system are the main resources for treatment. (6) There is no true diagnosis for autism but these are the ways to manage this disease. That’s why when you’re around people who have autism you need too as nice as possible and help them do the activities they would like to do because that is what makes them happy.
In conclusion, in the past paper we have learned exactly what autism is and the characteristics of autism, how to handle an autistic patient, and how to help he or she. I just know that when I am with an autistic person I am very nice to them and help them achieve their goal because they are physically and mentally challenged and they need all the help possible. As long as your nice to them and help them learn even though it takes much longer than a normal person it really will make there family appreciate you and it will make you feel well about yourself as a person.
