He constantly remembers the past to reinforce the truth. He finds proof that Hassan is his brother with the way baba cared for Hassan. The love that Amir despised that it was going to Hassan. He remembers the time Baba cried for Hassan when he left. Remembering the rape and the accused theft that made Hassan and Ali leave, along with the story of their deaths and his relationship with Hassan made it much harder to bear.
Baba and Amir are characters that have clearly shown dramatic change in their personality and way of thinking. They are the most dynamic characters in the book thus far. These characters have close relations with one another, especially to Amir. Rahim`s close relation to Amir has impacted him both when he was younger and when he was older. He understood him very well but not as much as Hassan. Hassan is Amirs dearest friend, despite Amir calling him a slave. Hassan was his brother. The death of Hassan has impacted Amir, more than the death of his father, Baba. Baba was the person that Amir always looked up to and due to that motivation, he was scarred forever, or that’s what he claimed. He couldn’t admit his cowardice towards Assef was the real reason he has this regret. Assef was a big threat to Amir, he was his enemy that we was too scared to face alone.
