I enjoyed bad monkey as a book for a multitude of reasons.
1).One of the many reasons i had for enjoying this book is… the fact that all of the characters that are introduced are fleshed and and grey. When I say gray i mean that they are all morally ambiguous characters and they seem realistic and flawed opposed to perfect creations of the author.n As an example take the story's protagonist rick yancey. When you first meet him he seems like your typical hero, a detective thrust into a homicide case that he doesn't want to take the lead on(mainly because it requires that he keeps a decomposing arm inside of his freezer) . But as the story progresses relatively early(within the first 30 so pages) you find out that yancey had an affair with a married woman and attacked a man's genitalia with a vacuum cleaner. Now i don’t know about you but, he seems like a flawed man not a bad one but certainly not a snight in shining armor.
2.)The writing in the book is really good. …show more content…
The writing just engross you in the book as the main character carl yancey has to solve a case (the murder of Mr. Stripling) while on a suspension working as a restaurant inspector. Natural this makes things abundantly harder than it would have and thus, throughout the book you can always find him hurling insults at people and in general just being a d***. The way that the writing can go from a woman crying about her husband's death to a man complaining about the fact that there’s no beer in fridge as he has a decomposing arm inside his
