Bakery: Face-to-face Communication
Information is the lifeblood of an organisation. To effectively convey information, communication is necessary. It is important that the method used to convey the information is understandable by its intended recipient. Otherwise the communication is wasted and a business could suffer. The best channels than can be used to have an efficient and effective business in this case are face-to-face communication, teleconferencing and written communication.

Firstly, face-to-face communication can enhance effectiveness of meetings. When there’s an issue that requires a decision, you’re able to reach a consensus more quickly. Also, when there are many people in a meeting, there’s more energy and opportunities to participate and creatively contribute. Employees can brainstorm more easily and solve a handful of problems. Building and maintaining a strong relationship among workers are also the benefit of the face-to-face communication. There’s a feeling of community because we’re better able to socialize and interact with one another. Owners and workers can quickly build a bond that sets the foundation for trust and ultimately, lasting business relationships. For example, through face-to-face communication , the problem of less give-and-take of ideas between the owners and workers in Sundown bakery can be improved as face-to-face communication is an effective way to make the employees involves in contributing ideas.

There are several benefits of teleconferencing. For example, the employees located in different locations can easily be interacted with through this tool. Moreover meetings and discussions can be organized anytime required, and thus, important conversations are carried out quite easily. As a result, the efficiency and the productivity of the company increase to a great extent. Using teleconferencing can also helps in saving the expenditure associated with traveling. In the traditional times, the business owners always had to move to different location in order to check out the functioning of the units located at different places. However, this is not the case now. They only employ representatives at different places to look after these units, and they get the information through teleconference. As a result, it serves both the purpose at the same time, while along with that it also helps in saving the travel expenditures to a great extent. Therefore, as Sundown expanded from its original location, adding two new shops as well as two kiosks in local malls, teleconferencing can enhance the interaction between workers at a lower cost.

When a message is communicated in writing, it is called Written Communication. Written Communication is generally, used for communicating a message from the top management to the subordinates.Written communication helps in laying down apparent principles, policies and rules for running of an organization. Effective written communication is essential as it ensures effective control. Naturally, supervisors feel more secured in discharging their controlling job with written communication. When there is written communication, the sender's personal image is also transmitted to the receiver and he gets better idea regarding the efficiency of sender. This helps a lot to make an effective communication. Also, written messages are very clear and self-explanatory. The receiver of the message can easily follow it and understand it. In addition, Written communication is more reliable because anything written becomes authentic in the eye of law. Legal defenses can depend upon written communication as it provides valid records. In conclusion, clear communication is essential when managing activities. Therefore, an effective communication channel should be implemented to optimize worker productivity to ensure the smooth running of the organization. In this case, face-to-face communication, teleconferencing and written communication should be implemented to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Sundown Bakery.
