The dirty ballerina slippers hung loosely on her small feet. The subbing sound that came every time she moved them echoed off of the tall walls decorated with vines and weeds. She smiled to herself. There was nothing more beautiful than nature claiming what used to be theirs. Her little heart jumped in her chest when the threads of the shoes made her trip. The shoes were at least two sizes too big, but her correctly sized wellies were thrown into one of the corners of the building. She didn’t need them anymore, not when she had these shoes. When her little head popped around the corner, she gasped in shock. The walls were decorated with the most beautiful patterns, the floor clad in checkered tiles, a grand piano in the very back of the room and columns spread out in the room. The little girl stepped into the room slowly, and she moved with awe in her eyes. When she stepped further in, she could hear the faint whisper of the grand piano being played, although there were no one in front of it. The bass keys on the piano created a loud sound that filled her ears, and the upper part of the piano played a melody that spread trough her veins and settled deep within her bones.
The girl felt her shoulders relax and her breath begin to slow down to a comfortable breathing pattern. She took two deep breaths before her left foot stretched out in front of her, and her right arm stretched backwards. The unfamiliar feeling spread through her quite quickly. She couldn’t dance. Had never even taken a dance lesson, but somehow she knew exactly what to do when she stepped foot into the abandoned dance academy.
