Answer:
• Since the consequences of this situation directly reflect the credibility of Barton as the CIO of IVK Barton should tread cautiously keeping in mind all the advantages and the disadvantages.
• Barton should first directly approach the head of Sales department and ask for a better insight in the situation since it was not he, who directly reported to him (Barton).

3. Explain the relationship between technology standardization and business flexibility?
Answer:
To understand the relation between the two words we first need to understand what exactly the meaning of these two words is.

My understanding of the word ‘technology standardization’ is the scheme to bring a uniformity in the devices used by employees in a company. While talking about the relation between them, standardizing the correct and relevant technology in any business is its road to a better business flexibility. It makes sense to implement a strategy to streamlining the devices hence simplifying the entire process of IT maintainence. While doing so, it is also to be kept in mind that a business should not suffer in terms of security since neutralizing the technology may or may not be safe. We can say that standardization and flexibility go hand in hand for the development of a business.

Implementing technology standardization for business flexibility increases the agility of the system. A business becomes more responsive to change when it can accommodate the modification in its system.

Few advantages of standardization of technology in a business are:
 Reduced maintenance cost
 Uniformity amongst all the employees
Similar repair and after service request for all the
