The gym was silent. Then, Dr. Naismith walked into the stadium. I said,
“How did you get here?”
“An NBA game just ended, how did you get here”, he said. .
“I think by playing basketball”, I replied. Mr. Naismith had glasses and was an older man, he had an odd haircut and a mustache.
“How did you ever come up with the idea of basketball?”, I asked.

Chuck Connors was right, the Falcons looked very good and Chuck had given me a starting position in the game. At first, the game was tied, then we came up by 9 points at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter it was tied again at 53-53. I had 10 of those points at half -time. I was exhausted and sat the bench for the rest of the game. We lost 103-99.
A week later, it was out last game of the playoffs, the series was tied. We each had won 3 games. In the final game, I didn't start. In the first quarter, we were up by eleven after the first quarter. In the second quarter I played my best and we were still down by 8 points ,40-48. I had 10 of those points at halftime. In the third quarter, when I came in, we were up by 2 points. I had 15 of those points! In the final quarter, with 10 seconds left, we were down by 2, I brought the ball up and with 3 seconds left, I shot a three-pointer and made it! That was the end of the game, we won!
It was the end of the series we won the payoffs. I said to myself,” how am I going to get home? Dr. Naismith
