Basking Sharks
By, Nathan Renson Do you like sharks? I do! One of my favorites are Basking Sharks! They have unique features and habits, they eat a lot, and they have some cool facts!
Features/Habits
Basking Sharks are unique for not only their appearance but their diet too! They have a huge (3 foot) mouth. Inside the mouth and gills are “Gill Rakers” that filter small fish, plankton, larva, and other creatures. It’s known for its massive gills that stretch almost all the way around its head. The Basking Shark can be up to 46 feet long, earning the title of second biggest fish in the world! That’s as long as a school bus!
Attacks
Although it has a massive size, it is a gentle creature. It is very tolerant with divers. It will curiously inspect
