Batman’s Choice with regards to Harvey Dent “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Harvey Dent did just that. Harvy lied and claimed to be batman to protect batman’s true identity. The Joker overturned Harvey’s plan to stop corruption in the city of Gotham and to put the mob leaders in prison. A mob boss and a crooked cop help the Joker capture Harvey and Rachel; they were placed in separate buildings filled with explosives. The Joker reveals their locations to batman while under interrogation. The Joker tricks Batman into going to Dent’s location by telling him that Rachael is there. The explosives go off and Rachael dies, while Dent’s face is half burned off. Although he survives
the blast, he grieves heavily over Rachael and seeks revenge on those who helped aid in her death. Harvey lures Gordon’s family to the place where Rachael died, taking Gordon's family hostage. Batman confronts Dent, who judges the fates of himself, Batman, and Gordon's son with three coin flips. He shoots Batman, spares himself, and then flips again to determine the boy's fate. Batman, who is wearing body armor, tackles Dent off the building, killing him and saving the boy. Batman then convinces Gordon to frame him for the murders so that Dent will remain a symbol of hope for the city. Gordon destroys the Bat-Signal and launches a manhunt for the Batman. Batman made the ethical choice because he cared about the well-being of the citizens of Gotham and not about the spotlight of heroism. He knew the people would blame him for the joker, and he used that to keep the truth of how Harvey became the very evil he swore to protect from the city. At the end of the movie Harvy is commemorated as the “White Knight,” his other nickname.
