Argumentative Essay: Superman Vs. Batman
Superman vs. Batman

I have been a huge fan of Batman since I was a very little. I still have my old batman Halloween costume hanging in my cluttered closet, cape and all. Many people told me that batman wasn’t as cool as all the other super-heroes because he didn’t have any powers. I didn’t care what anyone said though, he was my hero back then, and still is to this day.
First I am going to discuss Batman. Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, lived his entire childhood plagued with the memory of the murder of his parents that he witnessed. He travelled the world, trained extensively, both physically and mentally, and waited for the day to exact his revenge on those who had caused him so much pain. He was emotionally shut down; he did not trust anyone besides Alfred, his butler. He was consumed with revenge through out his youth. Although Bruce Wayne realized his destiny during his youth, he did not dawn the mask of Batman till later on.

Clark Kent, or favored name “Superman”, lived his childhood on a farm with his adopted parents. As a young boy Clark was just discovering and mastering his many abilities such as speed, strength, vision, etc. His family chose to keep Clark's true identity a secret from the rest of the world because they knew he would just become a lab rat if he happened to fall into the wrong hands. Although Clark had friends during his school years, only one of them, Pete Ross, knew of his true identity. Clark was forced to hide his abilities from even his most trusted friends because he felt that he would be considered a freak if they knew the truth. Clark travelled the world to realize his true destiny of being the protector of the weak, powerless and innocent as well as planet Earth

Batman: Year One is about Bruce Wayne’s beginning as becoming Batman. In the beginning of the comic book, Bruce has always known violence all of his life since he was a child. In the very beginning of the comic book, he witnessed a brutal cold violent act, his parents’ death that happened in front of his very eyes (21). That is one of the biggest contributing factors of who he is today as Bruce Wayne/Batman. As stated on pages 18 and 19, we see the first myth of “Crime Does Not Pay” (Carlson, Myths of Violence Discussion). The actions that are played into these pages are part of an injustice that is played upon Gotham City by the villains/antagonist of the book. The protagonist is Bruce Wayne and James Gordon. By the violence in the comic book, Batman takes the action by using violence to fight the villains in the city. He, then, is seen as an antagonist because he fights and tries to save Gotham from falling apart from crime and restore it back to its former glory.…

    Marvel Vs. DC

Why do I like Marvel better than DC? Well when I was growing up I saw the cartoon of Spider-Man and I ended up liking it. Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero ever since. When I learned that there were other heroes in Marvel, I immediately took the side of Marvel. Marvel Comics has many more heroes besides Spider-Man, heroes like Iron Man, X-Men, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, and many more. On the other hand, I like DC Comics as well, another one of my favorite heroes, as I was growing up, was Batman, the only hero without powers, and the only comic I can read without getting lost in the story, so I must admit DC has a very good hero that I like to read about and has good traits as well. In the end, though, my choice goes to Marvel Comics for having Spider-Man, one of my favorite superheroes until this day.…
