There are two examples that the DWT are fighting for with full force, which these beavers can increase biodiversity and fight floods.
The DWT is able to run small experiments on how the beavers could help and these beavers have already showed great promise. Within five years that they were introduced into their small site for the experiment the beavers have made great changes. First, the beavers manipulated a river that was nothing but a trickle to become now a full stream flowing through ponds. By creating this river system it creates more habitat for other animals and increases biodiversity, like herons enter the site because there is a feast of frogs in the ponds. Finally, a great benefit from the beavers is when the water flows through where they located many pollutants are filtered out of the stream. This relates to class because these beavers are increasing the biodiversity in the United Kingdom. The beavers create the great possibility for a resurgence of species richness throughout the whole
countryside.
