Becoming A Veterinarian
Veterinarians “New graduates from Veterinary schools have increased to roughly 3,000 students per year” (Summary). Being a Veterinarian is one way to have a close relationship with animals and to save lives. Becoming a Veterinarian involves knowing what the career requires, degrees and education, experience, location of occupation, and college details. A career as a Veterinarian consists of knowing what the career involves. A Veterinarian needs to know what tasks to perform. Tasks as a Veterinarian include performing surgery, diagnose, treat, test for disease, vaccinate, and take x-rays (Summary). Veterinarians have a lot to handle.“A Veterinarian's salary is $88,490 per year. A; hourly pay is $42.54” (Summary). Veterinarians make can earn a lot of money. “A work environment for a Veterinarian usually is a clinic, hospitals and labs, but a Veterinarian can also work on farms” (Summary). To be a Veterinarian the ability to handle these environments is needed. “A Veterinarian's schedule can vary, most will work additional hours, work nights or weekends or come in for emergencies” (Summary). NC state has “34,000 plus students” (NC). This means a lot of people apply. NC states “housing includes village to on-and-off campus” The housing could be expensive depending where you stay (NC). The acceptance rate is 43.7% (NC). This means it is very hard to get in. NC state teaches “Science, technology, engineering, math, design, humanities and social sciences, textiles and veterinary medicine” (NC). All of these skills are needed to become a veterinarian. To be a veterinarian one must “learn calculus, statistics, algebra, trigonometry and pre requisites” (NC).
