Becoming a Veterinarian To become a Veterinarian, there are certain job tasks, special skills, and talents, as well as a higher education that is needed. Becoming a Vet is going to be a long journey and there are going to be may obstacles along the way. To become a veterinarian there are certain job tasks you have to get used to. You need to be satisfied with looking at blood. Also you need to be strong and calm because if you are in a situation where you have put a dog to sleep, you are the one to do that and you can’t be the one who makes that situation worse because you are in charge. Furthermore you need many talents like keeping animals and people under control so you can actually do you job and focus on what you need to do and nothing more. You need to be patient and have an open schedule considering you will need to take a lot of classes and still have some time for you to enjoy. Lastly
you need to have a good education which I will talk about later in this essay. But personally I think being a veterinarian has a huge responsibility and I am ready to take part in this journey. In order to achieve the goal of being a Veterinarian, I will need to have a plan of action.
First, high school classes are a must. After high school you need to get your bachelor’s degree and that may be difficult but there are many different online classed for getting that degree. After your bachelor’s you need to earn your doctorate in veterinary medicine. Getting this license is difficult because you need to become licensed, gain experience, and become certified in a certain specialty. To help you get to where you are you could join or participate in a certain professional association. To get into a good college with this specialty you need to have a good grade point average (GPA), so what that is saying is you need to do good in school and get amazing grades. Also you need to have animal or clinical experience, to have that and get more use to being around medicine and animals, you could volunteer at an animal shelter or volunteer at a hospital and take care of people. You also need a letter of recommendation, to get that you could help people out and do good
deeds.

Not only is it necessary to plan for this career and know tasks and education needed, but recognition and awareness of the potential income, and related jobs, and why this job is for me needs to be researched. I choose this job just how everyone else choose their jobs. When I choose my job I tried to keep the topic in my interest, for example, I really do enjoy animals and when I was little I always wanted to be a doctor so I put the two together and decided to become a veterinarian because you are working with people, animals, and medicine. I also chose this job because you get a good salary, everyday is different, it helps you interact with the community, and it utilizes problem solving. Some advantages for becoming a veterinarian are you don’t work on holidays, you get to be with and help animals, you work with people and you and always moving and lastly it is a “dream job” from when I was younger. Some other related job for a veterinarian are, animal caretaker, Marine biologist, Animal welfare lawyer, and many more. But most of all a veterinarian stuck out the most to me and I want to become one with the best of my ability.

Overall, a Veterinarian has been my dream job ever since I was a kid and I would like to live up to that dream as much as I possibly can. But as I know there are many obstacles along the way, and even though it will be difficult I know I can make it through if I set my mind to it, focus, and enjoy it as much as I can along the way.
