Randy Pausch was a professor at the University of Virginia where he met a young man by the name of Tommy Burnett who wanted a job on his research team. I’ve decide to focus on Tommy as a master student, due to all the qualities that I’ve seen in Tommy. He holds great qualifications in self-confidence; an education after materials that interest him and he allowed no negativity dictate to what he can accomplish. He applied himself in every area that would complement him when presented to apply the skills he acquired. Randy became familiar with Tommy because he mentioned a childhood dream that he had when he was six years old. This intrigued the professor because anyone who mentioned a childhood dream it always had a way to catch his attention and Randy wanted to hear more about his dream. Even though Randy was impressed with this young wiz he had the opportunity to teach he didn’t have the same heart for Tommy’s dream. The professor was more impressed with the drive that Tommy had, not so much of the skills Tommy learned to equip himself with throughout the years.
As the twenty-two-year old who specialized in arts, computer and graphics began to reveal to Professor of his dreams of becoming the next person to work on the next Star Wars film, his passion apparently must have come alive to the professor as he carefully listened to Tommy. Randy apparently seen the determination that this young man had and made up his mind that this is someone he’ll like to keep around him, I believe Tommy reminded Randy of himself at some point in his life. Professor Randy identified with his strong desires of Tommy’s plans because the professor at one time had the same desires with the NFL. Although, his dreams of being on the NFL didn’t take place he figure the same would be for Tommy. At this point event though the professor took a liking to Tommy his heart didn’t quite see Tommy’s plans from the position.
The first Star War film came out 1977
