The Queen has the longest body compared to the other two types of bees. She is equipped with a stinger that does not have a fish hook like barb at the end of the stinger. The job of the worker bee is to fly to the flowers and take up the nectar which she takes back the nectar to the hive that will get turned into honey. During the nectar gathering season she will work so hard and make herself tired enough that she dies. The Worker bee is a female but is not fertile so she cannot lay eggs. The last type of bee is called The Drone. The Drone is a male bee and is the largest bee in the hive. The drone has no stinger to defend itself. The drone has no useful purpose in the hive. Its only purpose is to fly around and look for a virgin Queen Bee. After mating with the Queen Bee, the seminal sac of the drone will be ripped out of its body and will be stored inside the body of the Queen for future use.
