Being Called The New Kid Research Paper

Being called the “new kid” is anything but foreign to me, seeing as I have been identified with this label with every school change. Throughout my school career, I have changed schools many times and have grown comfortable with being called the “new kid”. Although, as I started to grow accustomed to the new schools, I realized how many other individuals go through the same thing as I have. The first day at a new school is not easy, whether it applies to making new friends or adjusting to different classes. I would sit in the cafeteria and scout out how many individuals were sitting alone without anyone to make them feel welcome. As a result, I made it my goal at the beginning of each school year to sit with the new kids to help make their adjustment
more comfortable. I would sit with them and introduce them to other new people who I thought they would mesh well with. It is through these actions that I realized my leadership potential can be found when it comes to helping others and making them happy.
