Abstract
E-learning is an innovative EC system which has been gaining much attention mainly because world-class universities are implementing it. E-learning can be useful both as an environment for facilitating learning at schools and as an environment for efficient and effective corporate training. (Turban, King, Lee, Liang & Turban, 2012). This paper describes the business and social benefits and limitations of E-commerce.
Social and Business Benefits of E-learning E-learning gives chance of education for poor students who do not afford to pay for university tuition fees, those who interrupt their education to start work in early ages, or those who are living in remote areas where closed systems of education not available. (Awad & Talab, 2014).
Fear free environment. E-learning can provide a fear-free and privacy protected environment in which students can put forth any idea without fear of looking ignorant or stupid. (Turban, King, Lee, Liang & Turban, 2012)
Flexibility and self-paced. E-learners are able to adjust the time, location, content, and speed of learning according to their own personal schedules. For example, if necessary, they can refer back to previous lectures without affecting the learning pace of other students. (Turban, King, Lee, Liang & Turban, 2012)
Cost reduction. The cost of providing a learning experience can be reduced by 50-70 percent when classroom lectures are replaced by e-learning sessions. (Turban, King, Lee, Liang & Turban, 2012)
Faster Business Adaptation. Organizations with Learning Management Software platforms use eLearning tools to propel business forward. Most have found that eLearning makes them more adaptive to the fast pace of changing technology. (Harrison, 2014)
Attracts high caliber employees. Many job seekers look for work environments that can further business acumen.
