Benjamin Franklin Fart Proudly Summary
Benjamin Franklin wrote an essay on farts called 'Fart proudly'

When he was living in France around 1781 he was asked to do a scientific paper for the Royal Academy of Brussels. Although his reason for writing was unclear to many people, it is suspected that he wanted the Academy to create a medicine which would make farts smell less. I would expect him to write it as a funny joke, but he actually took his essay pretty seriously. While writing his essay he made a several hard studies to make it as scientific as possible. He also talked about a lot of different foods to make farts smell better, and what smells came from what food. Benjamin Franklin even said that scientists design a drug so that farts are not offensive and have a pleasant

There are some drawbacks to Nintendo’s STINK™ delivery system. The machine can only deliver a small single size dose (a “puff”) of each compound. Despite this hardware flaw, Nintendo wishes to be able to control the extent and duration of each scent and they expect PBI to design methods by which to accomplish this fine control. Note that you can deliver a second “puff” of another compound. Consider how you might use each of the…

When thinking of Benjamin Franklin, two thoughts come to my mind. His part in the founding of electricity due to his experiments with the kite and the key was engraved in my head from a young age. Also, the familiar face found at the center of possibly my favorite piece of paper I could have in my wallet at any time. But what lead to Benjamin Franklin being a figure so known and idolized, not only in early British American history but, in our world today? The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin outlines the life of a proclaimed self made man whose knowledge and hard work lead him to be a powerful and admired public figure in British North America. By implementing Toby Ditz’s idea surrounding masculinity that “the larger gender order within which masculinity is embedded is also fundamentally about…

Although the unpleasant smells of Farty Fred, Pig-Pen, and David seem terrible, always look for a positive. If these repulsive, vile smells did not exist to compare to the engaging, alluring ones, they would not smell nearly as good. Also, the more time spent around these smelly smells, the less powerful their stench becomes. So the next time something stinks, remember this: for every bad scent there is a good one…

In Benjamin Franklin’s "The Speech of Polly Baker," it seems Franklin is striving to be light-hearted, while also adding humor into this speech. However, Franklin presents a protest against laws that punished women for having children out-of-wedlock by imposing fines and whippings, while the father of these children went without punishment. Franklin using the voice of a woman, not only adds parody to this speech, but strengthens his argument and enhances the story. In Fanny Fern’s “Fern Leaves from Fanny’s Portfolio,” she would expose what she saw as common wrongs and sometimes advising ways to right these wrongs for women.…

The title sets the tone and style for Jean-Jaques Rousseau autobiography. Confessions strays away from the Enlightenment movement and discusses different aspects of human beings. Unlike Benjamin’s Franklin’s autobiography, Confessions embraces humility and embarrassment. The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin is more didactic, emphasizes the importance of learning how to write, read, and speak well. There are natural laws emplaced and systems that should be followed, but Confessions disrupts the ideas of the Enlightenment movement and ignites the start of romanticism.…

I am on the side of Benjamin Franklin because we have to take matters into our own hands to break free from Great Britain. We have tried multiple times trying to break free from Britain and we can’t just think that King george will stop his ways. Just as Patrick Henry said “Give me liberty or Death” we will should fight to get our freedom even if matters go to violence. If people join the Loyalists then they are breaking the dream of our great country the United States of America. This is also breaking the dream of our great president George Washington.…

Born in 1706, Benjamin Franklin was probably the most diverse and talented of the founding fathers; I say this because, not only was he a superb diplomat and politician, but he was also a writer, inventor, and a scientist, among many other things. Franklin was responsible for helping write the Declaration of Independence, as well as getting the French on our side during the Revolutionary War. Additionally, Benjamin Franklin invented things, such as bifocal glasses, the lightning rod, and swimming fins. Aside from his political and scientific talents, he was also a philosopher with a deep insight into the minds of people, and life itself. He was very interested in philosophy, and wanted to become a morally perfect person, who never did any harm, nor had any bad habits.…

Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, is known for his extensive list of accomplishments, including politician, printer, scientist, musician, inventor, and diplomat. He has always been proud of his working class roots after growing up in a poor family. He involves himself with public affairs and causes aimed at improving the lives of others. However, Benjamin Franklin is in no way perfect. He often manipulates people to get what he wants and becomes narcissistic later in life. He establishes myths in his Autobiography that represent American society. Although Franklin believes that he can spin the truth to achieve his goals to be more respected by society, he feels stronger about the idea that determination will lead to success and the admiration of the public.…

A major breakthrough in understanding our sense of smell occurred in 1991 when Richard Axel and Linda Buck discovered the large family of genes that give us our sense of smell. (143) They discovered that there are a huge number of genes dedicated to olfactory sense. They also discovered that only three percent of our entire genome is dedicated to genes for detecting and processing different odors. For this discovery, Axel and Buck received and shared the Nobel Prize in 2004. (144)…
