Beowulf Journal Entry
Eric looked out of the window of his house to see the glistening blue sea winking at him. As he walked out, people stared in wonder at his toga that proclaimed him to be a roman official. He smiled, once he had been one of those people, staring at the officials wondering if he could ever reach that rank, and now he had. He walked through the stalls looking for a nice meal to have for breakfast.

While he sat at a stall that sold bread and soup, he caught a glimpse of her. His soon-to-be wife. Merle. She was only fifteen, yet incredibly beautiful. She was a freeborn roman girl, and many men from his class and age group had been wanting to marry her. However, he was the one, and in two days he would be married. Just as he wandered out of the

He could remember nothing. He looked to the nearest sundial. Oh gods! I am going to be late. He raced to his next ship shouting goodbye to Merle. It was a treasure ship. Not any treasure ship, an Imperial one. The flag of the Emperor fluttered atop its mast. He walked on board and was met by the captain.
“Greetings, Mr Septem, I hope you are well. What you see on this ship is confidential and can be seen only by you or the Emperor. It is to be delivered by me. Sign here.” He held out a piece of paper. “This states that if you tell a single person, you will be assassinated. No questions asked.”
“Ok then,” replied Eric signing the piece of paper. “What have you got to show me?” First, Eric was lead into the treasure rooms. They were practically overflowing with gold and gems. “All to be melted down into coins. The gems, especially the quartz, are to be used in the new inventions of Archimedes, concerning electricity.” Eric looked at the man strangely.
“What like the lamps with no flame?” he asked.
“Exactly,” the man replied.
Then Eric was lead into the slaves’

The man who was showing Eric around had frozen. Eric looked over at one of the slaves to see why the man had frozen. The captain seemed to be staring at a young boy. Eric walked nearer to the boy and to his horror he could see what the captain had seen.
“What is your name?” Eric asked.
“My name is Augustus,” the small boy replied in perfect Latin.
“May I see what is around your neck Augustus?” Eric asked kindly.
“Go ahead,” replied Augustus, “I would show it to you but my hands are

The church itself is not too unlike other churches in the community, aesthetically it has a warm, inviting appeal to it, not too small, but of a fair size. Reinaldo does not agree with the American versions of the Pentecost, and does not attend a Pentecostal church here in the U.S.…

The film (Beowulf) was featured, In Denmark in the year 507 A.D., elderly King Hrothgar Anthony Hopkins dedicates his new mead hall in a drunken revelry. He and his people have conquered other lands. Although his queen, Wealthow Robin Wright Penn clearly disapproves, the assembled warriors and maidens clearly enjoy themselves. However, in a cavern not far from the mead hall, the singing and dancing is a painful nuisance to the misshapen half-human, half-demon Grendel Crispin Glover. Enraged, Grendel attacks the mead hall and kills or maims many of the warriors. He spares Hrothgar's life, however, after he returns to the cavern, his mother, a water demon Angelina Jolie…

I think that the biggest theme in Beowulf has to be good vs. evil. This theme is stressed very much throughout the book in symbolism. Grendel represents pure evil, while Beowulf represents the exact polar opposite of the monster Grendel. In Beowulf anything evil or bad is related to hell, while anything good is because of their faith in god. The original concept of good and evil can be traced back to the sons of Adam and Eve, Cain and Able. Cain killed his brother because god favored his sacrifice more than his. Cain is the origin of evil and Able is the origin of good. Grendel is a descendant of Cain, and is pure evil he takes pleasure in causing misfortune for others. Beowulf is the definition of good…

In the poem Beowulf it has been argued whether or not Beowulf shows pagan or Christian values or even both. however if one reads the poem and analysis closely you can see that Beowulf upholds both Christian and pagan values. The bravery and courage that Beowulf became so famous for shows his heroic and pagan values however he also shows Christian values by protecting and treating all of his people equally and by fighting the dragon alone and giving the gold to the people even if he did survive the final battle with the dragon.…

Ancient Rome was one of the most influential historical societies on our world today. From architecture to the basic way that the government was set up, they created a new era of thinking that set the standard for countries in the future, including how social classes were organized. Rome was an empire that was built upon its social classes with clearly defined roles that allowed for limited social mobility. There was a large gap between the wealthy upper class and the lower classes as well as slaves. Three main factors decided one's class, including wealth, freedom, and Roman citizenship. A person's social class determined what education, pastimes, and occupations were available to them. These classes included the elite upper class, a small middle class, and a majority of the population of lower class status, and slavery.…

Suddenly his attention was caught by a huge stone monument on his left, with an anvil on top and sticking out of the anvil was an enormous sword. He could not believe his eyes. Was this real? He approached carefully, and yes, sure enough it was a very a handsome sword. The young man glanced around, no-one about. Perhaps it would be all right for him just to borrow it for his brother, who would not be able to take part in the festivities if he had no sword.…
