Beowulf's Flaws

The story “Beowulf” a noble warrior but has his flaws maybe even one that will cause him his life. He overcomes various obstacles but did one of them obstacle overcome him in the end? He faced the best and gave it his all. Beowulf a great warrior but soft on the inside? Know from his fierce style of battling but has a soft side, weakness, passion, can this lead to his death? Beowulf tells all these great stories of what he had done. A warrior who feeds for more battling and wants to travel to help Hrothgar (King of Danes) with the fierce monster Grendel. He wants to take on the challenge as a warrior and tells the king he will defeat Grendel. The great Beowulf tells great tails to the people about how he conquer lands and defeated so many monsters
Made him seem more of a warrior who mind is focused on being a warrior. People looked up to the great Beowulf. He put his own body in the way to protect his men. He fought many battles alone and didn’t fear anything that stood in this way. He enjoys all of it as a hero, sailors brag on his name. He is a warrior who loves the limelight and likes the attention. As if all of these things fuel him to be a greater warrior. Beowulf who lived for fame and the glory. Also had another story for the people. “I swam in the darkness of night, Hunting monsters out of the ocean, and killing them one by on death was my errand and the fate/they had learned”(Beowulf 44). This story had people wowed at how much of a warrior he really was. He was able to swim and fight off monsters. This story proved to them that he would fight in life vs death situations. That you could count on him through any conditions. He told the king he would fight Grendel without anything. No sword, no weapons, and no clothes, he wants to show them that he can win without anything thing but raw power. He proves people wrong about his ability once he beat
Before facing Grendel, he gained feelings for the king’s wife (Wealhtheow). He was promised her after he defeated Grendel’s mother which he never did. He still was able to get her as his queen. Beowulf didn’t stop there, fast forward 50 years later. He has another young girl (Ursula) on his side while the queen knew but didn’t say much. Beowulf is threatened by Dragon. Dragon asks Beowulf “which one should I kill first, your pretty little bed warmer or wise queen” (Beowulf). Beowulf loved both of them that’s what made him soft. Beowulf as king thought he could have fun and be praised, but his soft-weak side allowed young women to come between him and his beautiful queen. He didn’t want to lose either of them. He couldn’t just have 1 queen his heart was so soft for young beautiful women like Ursula. She slept with Beowulf while his queen slept somewhere else. Towards the end of the movie as he goes visited Grendel mother, the first woman his soft heart felt for, to return the trophy. He has to face a
