Originally, Betty Who, or more formally named as Jessica Anne Newham, grew up in the arms of Sydney in Australia, where she got addicted to playing the cello straight after toddler. When her family flew in to live in the United States, she had taken this opportunity to expand what she knew and enrolled to the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan. She had been an active performer since 2010 and the experiences she had harnessed along the way made her solidify her identity all the more as time passed by. As for the genres, Betty Who is very versatile and can play using synthpop, power pop, electronic, electrohouse, nu-disco and indie pop marvelously. Betty Who is a prolific artist when it comes to crafting extended plays and she did so by offering two on the plate, entitled The Movement (released in April 2013) and Slow Dancing (released in April 2014). Both extended plays received quite fair reviews and reception from the listening public, which further fast-tracked her career as a pop
