The Epistle to the Romans, was written by the Apostle Paul to “To all in Rome who are beloved ones of God, called as saints,” (Romans 1:7), to explain how salvation is offered through the gospel of Jesus Christ (“Epistole to the Romans” 2014) This is considered to be one of the most important religious texts of any time and a major teaching tool that can be used today. What is it that the Book of Romans can teach us today just like it helped teach Christians throughout time?
Natural world
Romans teaches about God and his creation of the natural world. The natural world was created by god as he spoke it into existence. It teaches that the bible was not just a creation by human hands, rather a revelation of god and his works. In Romans 1:20 Paul writes, “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”(Romans 1:20). This shows in Romans that god reveals himself through his creation of the world and all of the people, places, and things that are within it. Romans teaches that by the creation of the world, and man that his existence is proven without any other need for proof. This allows for man not to be able to claim that he was not aware of god’s existence when the time comes for judgment.
Identity
The book of Romans teaches that all men were created from Adam and are all men are sinful. It goes on to teach that man is incapable of accepting god on his own and in this god sent his son Jesus to help man accept his word and believe in god to achieve eternal life and salvation for accepting god. Man goes through life facing many different temptations and is created corruptible and not free of sin from the beginning. Paul teaches that man must not be judged, as the lord will punish or reward all men as he sees fit after his death.
