Binary Opposition in Novel Frankenstein

As for the theme for the Novel Frankenstein, I choose the binary opposition Life-Death. Beside of the fact that there are a lot of characters who died in the novel, for every life or death event, there are always something big to happen that follows. The Life event starts when Victor was born; he was the only child so all of his parents’ attention and love is only for him. Then he had some little brothers so his parents’ attention is divided into three. It is shown when Victor said in the narration when he read the Cornelius Agripa’s book, his father only said not to read the book, but he did not say the reason. Then Victor started to learn and believe about traditional science. The Death event starts when Victor’s mother, Caroline, died. It is stated in the book that at that time Victor was about to go to the Ingolstadt. There is a possibility that the death of his mother became one of the reasons why Victor created something alive, which later become a monster. He might feel sad about the loss of his mother, thus he became more obsessed to make a life creature. He successfully made it, but then he wanted to kill the creature because it is so ugly, even he the creator was afraid of it. However, the monster who manages to survive live in the world, killed William Frankenstein because of he wanted revenge to Victor. Victor was very sad. Moreover, Justine was hung because everybody believes she was the murderer. However, even though Victor feels sad and guilty because of the loss of his family members, he still fine physically. Thus, he blamed the creature as a monster that like to kill. Then
