Biodiversity is affected by multiple drivers and pressures that modify its ability to provide ecosystem services to people. The interaction of multiple drivers, including demographic, economic, socio-political, scientific and technological ones, as discussed earlier, is known to increase pressures on biodiversity, leading to further decline, degradation and loss. However, the mechanisms associated with such loss require further research.
The direct mechanisms that might have resulted in loss of biodiversity are - habitat loss and disintegration, invasion by introduced species, the over-exploitation of plant resources, pollution and industrial development, agriculture and forestry. In nature these process …show more content…
The quantitative data on density, frequency, abundance and species diversity would be useful in forest management and conservation. The plant diversity of the region is threatened due to invasion of alien species, over grazing, anthropogenic activity and mining in the tangential regions of the forest. There is an urgent need in Bhandaria forest area to prevent the further expansion in mining and monoculture of the species in order to protect the existing forest. Such types of disturbance are the root cause for alien plant invasion. The forest was alternative home for the endemic species Asiatic lion however; owing to human interference the area has deteriorate in the last century and has lead to the movement of the species to other suitable regions. The other prime factor that affects the forest is the local tribes of the region who earn their livelihood from the non-timber forest produce of the forest. Therefore, the prevention and conservation of the forest resources and threatened plant species is not only crucial for its rich biodiversity, but also for meeting the basic needs of local population with suitable …show more content…
The necessity of conservation of biodiversity richness can be undertaken by the enforcement of certain practices which needs to be focused and followed unanimously both government and non-government agencies and perhaps a moral considerations and duties from individual to individual efforts would help in as a direct driving force to conserve biodiversity a very purpose of the hypothesis been undertaken of this chapter.
Based upon the personnel experiences and notice whilst the field trips and outdoor laboratory works following adjudgements were made as an outcome of it. These include;
1. Bio-conservation of each and every species including flora or fauna is a moral duty at individuals’ position irrespective to area.
2. However Bhandaria Forest reserved range requires a proper peep in periodically by authorities within the duty
