The author that is my topic is Walter Dean Myers. Mr. Myers is one of my favorite authors. Mr. Myers lived from 1936 to 2014. He has been awarded many awards for his books. He has written over 200 books.

As a child Mr. Myers faced a speech impediment. I think that’s what leads him into being a great author. A couple of his books are Monster, Bad Boy, and on a clear day. Mr. Myers grew up in Harlem, New York. After he dropped out of high school he joined the U.S. Army. His most treasured place was libraries.
