The writer will be looking at a bio-psychosocial model to use within this assignment as a holistic perspective in relation to my patient. It is my intention to use the model to critically evaluate the bio psychosocial factors in relation to my chosen patient. Bio- psychosocial model is the most rational and effective way to understanding the causation and the treatment of an illness. It promotes nurses to understand illnesses or disease affects an individual. Professionals investigate all relevant sociological, biological and psychological factors that might be contributing to the occurrence, developing and management of the illness or diseases.
For the purpose of this assignment I shall name my patient Kate in order to remain within the confidentiality clause of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (2008). The area of practice shall also remain undisclosed.
During my placement at an adult mental health assessment unit l worked with clients who were experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
