“Bip Bip Bip”
Wake up, make coffee, drink coffee, make breakfast, eat breakfast, open the door of the car, drive to school, arrive at school, go to class, leave class, lunch, go to class, leave class, go home, do homework, eat dinner, shower, sleep. “Bip Bip Bip” and it all starts over again. Sometimes I wonder if people are robots. With all those very specific routines, that most of the society take too seriously, we sometimes don’t notice new stuff, we are to adapt to the same tree, at the same place, at the same time we go to school every morning, but did we see that there was a tone of trash next to it? No! Because we know what that tree looks like, and it wasn’t “enough important” to make people realize it had changed, we were too focused on getting our routine right. Why are routines so much important for humans?

I think it is because that movie is so intense but so real, they show the reality that people don’t want to see, that they want to ignore, to do like it was normal but it is not. It is an extremely big problem. People should realize it, it is not normal that men are paid more than women or white people to have more rights than other skin colors. A gender or a color shouldn’t impact people’s decisions in some situations. I grew because now I know what it is like to try to leave a mark in the world when you are a woman or to try to revolt but you know you have no chances. In The great debater when a girl, Samantha, showed up to be part of the debaters, everyone was surprised. They were looking at her like if she was in the wrong class. And I became more mature because now I can have interesting conversations with my friends. The traditional “What’s up?” is now transformed into “Do you know what happened at the end of the movie? OMG, it is like this and like that…it is

Who do you think the Holocaust is truly to blame for? As many people would say, the true guilty one is Adolf Hitler, the man who commanded the death of millions. However, bystanders were just as guilty as the perpetrators for not helping the victims in times of need. This is because the moment you become a bystander, you are immediately taking responsibility for what the perpetrators do. As Elie Wiesel himself said, “To forget the dead would be akin to killing them a second time.”…

Imagine that you trained all your life for that special moment of playing in your first NHL game. At the beginning of your first shift in the game suddenly another player’s stick comes up and strikes you in the eye. This incident ends your career. This could have been prevented if you wore a visor. I think visors should be mandatory in the NHL in order to improve a player’s safety. Statistics have proven players who wear visors in the NHL play less aggressive. There are many incidents involving sticks and pucks going into player’s faces. A recent incident occurred between Philadelphia’s Chris Pronger and Toronto’s Mikhail Grabovski. Furthermore, two years ago a former NHL player Brad May, Gave a speech supporting the use of visors.…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

lastics are synthetic substances produced by chemical reactions. Almost all plastics are made from petroleum, except a few experimental resins derived from corn and other organic substances. Plastic has many properties which have made it a raw material of choice for manufacturing of plastic bags and packing materials. Cost of production, light weight, strength, easy process of manufacture, and availability are some of the properties. There is nothing wrong with plastic as a material. Man has simply not put the plastic to the right use/ or using it without taking proper care of other related norms of usage. Now a days plastic is our favorite shopping basket, for example, the packaging of milk delivered to our doorsteps everyday, the edible oil, salt atta in our daily life, mineral water, which is our travel component. Plastics have changed life styles & conveniences in home cutting across every strata of society - from refrigerators to mixers; from washing machines to water filters; from the ubiquitous bucket to thermo ware and have made life easier, better & happier for the housewife.…
