Measuring Enterprise Impact One of the most important and biggest elements of a company would be its amount of data and information. There are countless amounts of data produced every day from companies, and it’s becoming an issue on where and how to store this. One key element of this is raw data and how a company stores and then turns this into usable or valuable information. Having this raw data transformed is key for a company’s future when important business needs and decisions are made. Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP refers to the business software that has been designed to record and manage your enterprise data. Measuring a company’s data is not easy and using complex tracing such as ERP is needed.
Outsourcing Data We are coming into a data heavy times and with little end in sight. We need more efficient systems to help calculate and retain more accurate data. By measuring the impact, it shows the general public a better idea of your organization’s impact on data storage. Timothy made a great point that most of the major companies already had an ERP system mixed into the core of the business. I’m not sure a lot of people are aware of this, I know I was not. A lot of companies feel the need to make internal cuts for energy usage, and they, therefore, outsource their data processing. These businesses must, however, be more cautious when outsourcing their data. This can lead to some unforeseen issues where the outsourced work is inaccurate. Even worse this data can become manipulated as outsourcing companies may not have the same strict guidelines that the parent company does. This can cause unrepairable damage to the company if nothing else, a lot of time and money correcting. Parent companies may have a difficult time giving these outsourcer’s work or business if their work is
