Book Review: science- Definitive guide, Quercus publishing
This is the fine book of science by Bizony Piers. Piers tries to touch all the aspect of sciences and give the briefly and somewhere even detail overview on every beats and pieces of all the aspects of science. Each part starts with very good scientific background with his research and clear definition before moving on to a more in-depth exploration of its coverage. Piers Bizony begins with physics and start with the topic of the basic building blocks of matter and fine description of atomic and subatomic particles. Next, in the discussion of chemistry he talks about the main phases of matter existing on the earth such as …show more content…
Then he entered the biological part starting with the living life, its components, features and its working mechanisms. He gave detail about the biology of DNA, RNA, cells of plant and animals including from unicellular to human beings. Last part of the book is the astronomy. In this part, he discussed about planets, stars, galaxies, and the inevitable forces that has control over our ceaselessly expanding universe.
The most fundamental building block of matter was a particles called the atom. The atom is made of very smaller piece, known as subatomic particle. Every atom contains a central core called the nucleus, made of particles called protons and neutrons. The nucleus is surrounded by mostly empty space, except for very tiny particles called electrons that orbit the nucleus.
Elements are substances that cannot be separated into simpler substances. Salt is made up of the elements sodium and chloride. Water is made up of the elements hydrogen and oxygen. A compound is a pure substance composed of two or more different atoms chemically bonded to one another. A compound can be destroyed by chemical means. It might be broken down
