Should Retail Stores Be Open On Black Friday? I Think Not! a Persuasive Thesis Statement on stores opening on Thanksgiving:
Even though stores stay open, stores shouldn't stay open because credit cards can get maxed out and people can or have died or get injuries during Black Friday.
I am against Black Friday because I don’t like how people act when they are trying to get good sales instead of spending time with their family. My family members are far away from my home so I try to spend as much time with them. Black Friday is basically taking time away time from your family and risking the life of other people. I want retail stores to not be open on Thanksgiving so that everyone …show more content…
can have a good life. You have your reasons to to disagree or agree with me so please listen to what I say. Credit or debit cards can get maxed out which means you might not have enough money to get items for you and/or kids.
One reason why I think they should be closed on Thanksgiving is because family members don’t get to have much time together. The employees don’t get to spend time with their families since they have to work there. You are just wasting their time with their family. The family needs time to have fun instead of having the risk of getting injured or killed. Some reasons are because Family members leave early. The most common thing is men and teenagers leave early because they want to be safe and get more stuff before getting hurt during Black Friday. They also go early is because there is more stuff for sale than when it is Black Friday. Another reason why I don’t think you should go is because you can always make homemade from yarn or wood that you haven’t used yet and more. The items that you made can also be passed down from generation to generation.
When people go to Black Friday, credit or debit cards can get maxed out. It is proven that credit or debit cards get maxed out because they spend too much on sales. They also most likely don’t have much money on them from buying items like groceries, presents, and stuff. They also need the money for paying the bills, taxes, etc. If they don’t have the money then they won’t be able to have lot of stuff like cable, electricity, water, etc. They need food and water to survive so if you don’t have that stuff you might be like those people in Asia. Starving and lost with no shelter to live in. If you go to Black Friday, you better have a budget so that you can watch your money for the future.
My last, but not least thought is that you or a family member could get killed or injured.
Here are some facts about it, in 2012 a man was coming home from Black Friday and was being pulled over by a police car. The driver struck the left rear of the car, injured 2 motorcyclists and a policeman. The driver’s car was an SUV and it rolled about seven. In the other car there were four girls sitting in a seat for only three. Two of the girls weren’t buckled up. One of the girls were ejected from their seat and was found dead at the crime scene and the other died at the hospital. That is only one of the severe accidents that can happen on Black Friday. In 2009, a man was shot from coming home and was dead at the crime scene. The man who shot the person wanted the new TV he had in the back of his truck. That is a story that I haven’t looked in very deeply, but I know that is true. It is also dangerous because employees can have pepper spray. Even average people can have dangerous weapons. In one story is that a woman that was an employee pepper sprayed ten people on Black Friday. If you go and haven’t thought of the dangerous things that could happen then this is your warning.
I have my reasons to say not to go and you have yours. If you go that is fine with me. My group and I think that retail stores should be closed on Thanksgiving. I like my family and I bet you do too so be prepared for the day that some of us dread. I have my choice of staying home. You have the choice of either
going to Black Friday or spending time with your family. This choice is called an opportunity cost. I hope that you go with our choices today and be safe.
Happy Thanksgiving!
