Ben Hall and Maguire may have divided the property and operated independently of each other, as in John McGuire's narrative, 'The Biography of a Reliable Old Native', Maguire states that Ben Hall reputedly named his portion 'Cubbine Bin', running his own cattle and horses, and when required the two men worked together in clearing and forming stockyards close to their water supply, this would have been a prudent way to operate a new farming enterprise in the 1860’s, and thus the two squatters shared the yearly rent to the government, as for the acquiring of stock for this new enterprise, John Maguire states that Ben Hall and himself had done a bit of duffing, Maguire…
SNCs’ five paragraph order contained pertinent information, but was heavily punctuated with the use of filler words such as “uh” which hindered the flow of the order and made it difficult to understand. SNC’s Situation paragraph was briefed out of sequence. During movement to the objective SNC moved throughout the squad to ensure proper dispersion and physically moved subordinates who did not immediately correct dispersion. Upon receiving enemy contact, SNC issued clear orders and ADDRAC. SNC lost mission focus, to resupply a desperate squad, and instead allocated his entire squad to assault a lone enemy’s fighting position. During the assault, SNC lead from the front, directing his fire team leaders to alter direction of attack and maintain…
The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano presented English identity as the epitome of modernity, and the mark of cultural maturity. Rather than being a set racial or national identity Equiano portrayed englishness as an achievable goal, even for a racially black man. The Narrative intentionally depicted Equiano’s transformation from African boy to Englishman a positive change. Through the portrayal of his life as a struggle to become an Englishman; and his telling of a willing adoption of anglican religion, cultural values, and economic sensibilities, Olaudah Equiano purposefully appealed to the paternalistic nature of the English in order to advocate for the abolition of slavery.…
Details are vivid, rich and specific. There are descriptions at various points in the narrative that beyond the obvious and predictable. Narration is what allows us to grasp every action and detail in a story. Although authors are usually expected to guide readers through a book, Ernest Hemingway in Hills Like White Elephants decided to narrate his story in journalistic fashion. The story being told in an objective narrative format allowed for imagination and assumptions. The story being told in third person point of view which is objective, never allows us into the minds of the characters. We are only given minimal background and specifics. Though not much is offered, we can analyze various moments in the narration that contributes and shapes to the meaning of the story.…

This audio is related to the event review that I participated with Braeden. For controlling the time within 5 minutes, we have practiced and tried for 8 times at least. But it's not so good in consequence. The time limitation makes me speak too fast and not so clearly and we also delete some part of our review. I think we should not take much care of the time. The most important thing should be how to explain the review clearly and in…

The author maintains most of the events that are from the book come from is imagination. Which isn’t to say that they have no basis of truth. Yet “story truths,” O’Brien believes, often convey emotional and philosophical truths in more effective ways. A fictional account of a soldier’s death may better convey a sense of fear and loss than a factual account. It’s for getting at the truth when the truth isn’t sufficient.…
Annie Proulx does an excellent job of structuring her sentences to where they fill our minds with countless images that we can see happening in real life, well almost everything. The sentences are very descriptive. That is one example of how her style comes into play with her writing. Also she can use the characters and she arranges the story in chronological way that makes you go back after you have read the story and re-arrange the events to where they come out in order.…
Should lying ever be considered an action to do? Lying has been considered a wrongful deed however people still do it for multiple reasons. Even though most of the time people should tell the truth, there are situations where it's better to manipulate the facts. For example according to “It’s the Truth: Americans Conflicted about Lying” ethics columnist Randy Cohen states that lying is used to protect people from harm. Tim from “Teens do their share of lying” says that lying can save one from a beatdown by their parents. Brad Blanton from “Brad Blanton: Honestly Tell the Truth” however states that lying is stressful to one and telling the truth is easier, but a lie can help people out and no one can be honest all the time.…
