Blixen Narrative Analysis

Part 3 had many commendable moments where Blixen was able to fully engulf the reader in her own world. When Blixen wrote about her lion hunting adventures with Denys I felt as though I was also there crouched near the coffee trees, waiting for Denys to let off a shot. Blixen very carefully described the whole set up of the situation, and the exact movements of all parties involved during the hunt, which made the reader feel as though they were there in that very moment. Blixen’s writing is quite obviously descriptive, initially I had thought that her writing was too descriptive. However, after one of our previous classes I was able to see what Blixen was doing.
