The brain is a beautiful live organ located inside the head, through inside of the skull. The skull inside the head of the body, is a very thin-like bone, a quarter inch thick, that makes up the human face structure and protects our brain from getting damaged. However, the skull can get damaged by a violent blow or jolt to the head from an external force of impact, like for example, a car accident. Consequently, if the head is whipped around, small tearing occurs affecting the brain, resulting in a diffuse axonal injury by this means, a brain injury. The parts of the brain that will take an effect by this injury is the right side of the brain, which is where the cognitive functions are located. This will result in difficulties making everyday living activities complicated. …show more content…
A Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is an injury in the brain that causes temporary dysfunction to the brain cells leading the outcome in long-term mental complications ("Traumatic brain injury - Mayo Clinic," n.d.). The injury will also affect the body in physically ways to where medical treatment is needed, like for example, seizures, migraines, and loss of consciousness. Beyond the physical effects, the mental complications that come with the injury is the ability to use the cognitive functions of the brain correctly, which takes place by the diffuse axonal injury. But on the contrary, the brain will learn new ways of living even when the cognitive function is
