Bmx Persuasive Speech
BMX, one of the most exhausting sports ever, and still is. I remember my first Walmart eighteen- inch bike. I also remember my first actual BMX bike from a BMX store. BMX isn’t just a sport, it’s a hobby and enjoyed by millions. It takes time. You’re going to hurt yourself. You’re going to fall a lot. However, that’s all just apart of learning new things. BMX isn’t just like any sport. It takes a lot of guts and repetition to learn and get what you want so badly. I want people to understand that BMX isn’t just a sport that you can go out and practice one day and learn everything all at once. Everything takes time. BMX takes time. I want people to see us as not just kids going around breaking the law and riding in the streets of the cities doing tricks enjoying ourselves. I want people to see us as hard workers too. We fall and get hurt, we do this for the love of the sport and hoping one day …show more content…
Do you ever just get tired of being in an office all day or standing? “Lahsaan Kobza presents a solid example of what can come your way from longevity in BMX through determination and good spirit”. Just imagine your life doing what you love without anyone telling you what to do. It would be amazing right? To travel the world and be in competitions is a dream to many riders. Imagine all the great people you will meet and amazing places you’d see. Riding BMX is not just about being the best, it is about riding for the fun and love of it. Just remember that it takes a lot of learning and falling to get what you want. BMX is a freestyle lifestyle that is very diverse from many sports. You are going to face many situations such as being scared to do that big banger trick you want badly. Injuries will occur a lot and you have to learn and get back up and keep trying. Trust me, if you keep trying and get what you want there’s always going to be this feeling when riding

No one has influenced you or made you do this sport you have decided to do it yourself. For me this would be my BMX. At the age of 8 I decided to go to a BMX track that was because I wanted to be like Whitey and Moustache off the 1983 movie BMX Bandits. Me being a little youngster wanted to be exactly like them and I ended out being quite good at it. Later down the track I have now made the national team for BMX, if it wasn’t for my own drive to do BMX as a little kid I would never have made the national team.…

Many of these are simple fractures and cuts, but more serious injuries are disturbingly common. Two winters ago, snowmobiler Caleb Moore was killed after a horrific crash. In 2009, Olympic-bound snowboarder Kevin Pearce suffered a permanent brain injury after a fall during a practice run. These sports are dangerous at any age.…

The unconventional bikes they rode were simple 250 2 strokes with puny suspension and motors that were cursed with engine problems. In Great Britain, they were raced in “scrambles” – 20 mile courses over the countryside. The first organized scramble was said to of been the Southern Scott Scramble. They quickly came to this side of the Atlantic, to the Crotona Motorcycle Club in Crotona, NY. It turned from weekend warrior racing to competitive racing as outdoor nationals started being formed that were being won by today’s motocross heroes like Roger Decoster and Joel Robert. While today’s popular motocross bikes are “the big five” – Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, KTM, and Kawasaki – the popular bikes back when the sport was still evolving were Husqvarna, Bultaco, CZ, and Maico. Those bikes are all rare collectables nowadays, and there is even a special class today for the “vintage” bikes. The evolution of motocross still thrives!…

“You race motocross? How hard could that be? You just sit on the seat and twist the throttle and you go, anyone could do that.” I have heard that so many times throughout my life, and it couldn’t be farther from the truth. Motocross is a sport that started in the mid 1920’s; it used to be just a hobby that friends would get together and compete on the weekends. Now, it requires more dedication and determination than anyone could imagine. Pro motocross events are broken into two individual races, each being thirty minutes, followed by two individual laps after the clock strikes zero. These races are called motos. There are no breaks during the motos, and with the season being in the heat of the summer, it is extremely grueling. The bikes weigh two hundred and fifty pounds, and the gear is approximately twenty five pounds. To muscle the bike around for that long and not injure yourself, it requires a special type of fitness to be a successful motocross athlete.…

“In order for some people to be happy, sometimes they have to take risks. It’s true these dangers put them at risk of being hurt.” This was a quote from Meg Cabot in 2002. This quote fits well with motocross. Motocross is a way of life for most people that partake in it. The thrill of racing someone so close that you could tap them on their opposite shoulder, 20 feet in the air, is what we, the motocross racers, live for. For those uninformed of what motocross is, I will explain. Motocross is competition dirt bike racing which takes place on either large outdoor tracks, or indoor tracks during cold climate racing. There are many obstacles such as jumps that can be as long as 100 feet, to closely packed rollers, called whoops that can be knee deep in depth. Along with manmade obstacles, after a full day of racing the track will form deep ruts due to the dirt bikes tires, and large braking bumps that can very easily throw an inexperienced rider over the bars. All of this is can be competed by as any as 40 riders at a time, which can make for very exciting racing.…

The two stories or literary novels "Sixteen" by Maureen Daly and "Through the Tunnel" by Doris Lessing, who are both authors or wordsmiths, Maureen Daly and Doris Lessing uses a theme, subject, or topic matter of their characters who are wanting to prove, validate, and justify themselves to someone else. The differences, distinctions, or variation of these two stories or literary novels becomes extremely useless and obsolete when who the two characters aspire to prove, validate, and justify themselves to others in social situations. In "Sixteen" by Maureen Daly the principal character or main character seems to be attempting or trying really and truly hard to prove, validate, and justify herself to the reader, and that she is insightful and perceptive enough and popular enough to be telling this story or literary novel.…

To ride properly takes great skill, knowledge, and strength. These skills are something that I learned as time passed. The knowledge of how much throttle I need to make it up a hill climb is important for safety reasons. The skill in being able to keep it straight and on the path going up or down a steep slope is important as well. Finally knowing what inclines my quad can take and which ones it can not make it up or down also keeps you safe.…
