Sub: Statement of motivation for Masters in International Management
Dear Sir,
As you know, one of the most important components of the complex organization called the human body is blood. One can call it the life force as it passes through the blood vessels and reaches every single corner of the body, however remote it maybe from the source, aiding in growth and development. To me, the concept of finance in an industry or any organization is analogous to the blood that flows in the body. Finance is one of the most important driving forces in any institution, be it on an individual level or on an organizational level. The importance of this concept cannot be exemplified beyond this degree. As a prospective student to your institution, it is this concept that has fascinated me and brought me to your gates.
As a youngster, I have always been curious about almost anything. A person with diverse interests and experiences, my enthusiasm towards subjects has allowed me to build a solid knowledge base in many fields ranging from religion to sports and from literature to technology and I have thus developed into what one might call a jack-of-all-trades. It is this curiosity that has led me to experiment with my interests and pursuits.
It was in early 2006 that I was introduced to the financial world through the controversial Arcelor-Mittal merger. The thought of acquiring a rival enterprise was entirely new to me. Of course, a healthy competition existed among rivals but a takeover on this level was immense and was a surprise. This piqued my interest in mergers and acquisitions. I followed this deal very closely and as days went by, my interest in the financial aspect of globalization grew substantially.
