Long time ago, two powerful raise has conquered the lands the Saxons and the Normans but their tradition keeps them away form each other. There is a man Ivanhoe is disinherited by his father Cedric because of his loyalty to the Norman king of England. He also plans to marry the lovely lady Rowena the ward of his father. When Ivanhoe plans to disguise for him to return back in the side of the king he faced many problems and quest. With the help of the black knight, Isaac, Lady Rowena, Locksley or Robin Hood with his group of outlaws, Ivanhoe manages to surpass all the challenges. At the end Ivanhoe conquered his mission and marry lady Rowena to the road of victory. The novel Ivanhoe is a blend of romance and adventure.
The Protagonist in the story is the main character Ivanhoe who had disinherited by his father because of following King Richard I. He plans to protect his love ones. In the story he volunteered to be the lady Rowena’s champion to save her life. The Antagonist in the story is Bois-Guilbert. He is a cruel violent ruler who doesn’t think twice in killing people. In my opinion Ivanhoe is good because he only tries to think and act what is right and in justice. Bois Guilbert is the man who is in charge in the Torquilstone, it is not just right because you can run or handle your place well even though you are good. The conflict in the story is in the conflict between the Saxons and the Normans. The novel began in describing how the two raise tend in having a conflict from one raise to another. It is community to community because they always having a conflict between each other. For me, I am not
